This event has now ended

Tuesday 25th September 2018
6 - 8pm
at Northern School of Contemporary Dance

Led by Italian choreographer Francesco Scavetta ahead of his company’s performance at Riley Theatre, this workshop for dance graduates and professionals explores his personal approach to contemporary dance.

Through a structured score of sequences combining release technique, improvisation, floorwork and tai chi, you will focus on centering and gravity; on awakening the internal and external supports, while allowing isolation in the limbs and flow in movement.

The image of a body in a state of constant alertness, able to surprise itself and to escape from habits and any other kind of routine. A body more focused on reacting than on acting, on receiving, rather than doing. The goal is to let the movement to cross freely through the body… with organic innovation.Francesco Scavetta

“A Surprised Body” has been taught in more than 40 countries worldwide.

This workshop takes place in the run up to Wee/Francesco Scavetta’s performance of Hardly Ever at Riley Theatre on Thursday 27 September. Tickets are £12 (£7)
