HANNAH DURKAN

Dancer

Hannah Durkan attended the Victoria Academy of Ballet, where she received her Professional Diploma in Dance under the direction of Bleiddyn Del Villar Bellis. As passionate student of both contemporary and classical ballet, she performed solos from the classical Nutcracker, and several contemporary pieces choreographed by John Alleyne and Alysa Pires. Hannah has had the privilege of working with contemporary choreographers Angela Mousseau and Constance Cooke. In August 2022 Hannah attended ProArteDanza’s month-long dance project working with choreographers Roberto Campanella and Robert Glumbek. Ever curious, Hannah hopes to choreograph and stage a modern feminist piece grounded in women’s writings in future.

Dance is a place where I can get lost, risk failure, fall and still feel most connected to myself and to the world. Dance has given me the opportunity to never be in a tragedy; it has created a space where I can move through any struggle.
