ANGELA ZENARE

Dancer

Angela was born in Vicenza, Italy where she started dancing at the age of 3. She moved to Copenaghen at the age of 18 to follow a pre-education year at Copenaghen Contemporary Dance School, before moving to Leeds and joining Northern School of Contemporary Dance. During this time, Angela worked with choreographers such as Amaury Lebrun, Thick & Tight, and Phil Sanger. During her third year she had the opportunity to perform with Phoenix Dance Theatre in the restaging of “Windrush: Movement of the people” by Sharon Watson and also performed in a short film choreographed by Sandrine Monin.

"I dance for the feelings this amazing art form gives me: The adrenaline of performing in front of an audience, the fascination and curiosity of exploring and challenging what my body can do and how it can express, the vulnerability but at the same time empowerment it can give me and the satisfaction that comes when, sometimes, suddenly, everything flows and I’m at one with my body and thoughts."
