Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) invites applications from consultants or teams of consultants to undertake an Options Appraisal and Feasibility Study to investigate ways to enhance our business model going forward, strengthening its ability to achieve its mission, identifying approaches to increasing income generation, increasing sustainability and furthering the objectives and priorities of the Strategic Plan. The key element of the Feasibility Study is to consider our future property options, from remaining in the current site in Chapeltown, Leeds to undertaking a complete new build elsewhere in the city. The successful team will be able to demonstrate a successful track of working on similar sized property development projects with education institutions, ideally at HE level, and arts organisations.
We are a small specialist Higher Education provider and one of eight institutions that constitute the national Conservatoire for Dance and Drama. We are an international centre of excellence, employing over 50 staff and supporting over 200 students each year on our Access, Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. We provide an inspirational learning environment for aspiring contemporary dance artists to train in a place that values them as individuals, preparing them to enter the profession and help shape the future of dance. We also provide classes and workshops for all ages and abilities through our Learning and Participation programmes and a pre-professional training course for around sixty five talented children and young people from across the region, as a Centre for Advanced Training. We are also home to Riley Theatre, a unique, small to mid-scale performance venue for professional touring companies, the local community and emerging dance artists whose regular programme of visiting UK and European dance companies is supported by Arts Council England.
