Northern School of Contemporary Dance incorporates rehearsal studios, meeting rooms and an on-site performance venue, Riley Theatre. These facilities are an inspiring and practical venue for businesses, arts and education uses.
NSCD is developed around two historic Grade 2 listed buildings and as a result the layout has some accessibility restrictions. All floors of the School are accessible via the lifts at the front entrance, near Studio 3 and via the rear entrance of the School. There are however access restrictions within some of the back-stage areas of the Theatre. The theatre is therefore partially accessible for performers and audience members.

NSCD has eight large dance studios, all of which have:
Suitability: Intimate space with lighting facilities. Ideal for photography and filming.

Floor: Sprung, Covered
An intimate space used for stagecraft practice, rehearsals and performances. The lighting studio is an alternative performance space for installations, informal sharings, video and multimedia work, as well as being an ideal space to learn about the technical aspects of theatre such as lighting, sound and stage management.

Presentation facilities: Large TV screen to connect to laptop. Equipment for refreshments.
