Northern School of Contemporary Dance has teamed up with the Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund (BBCF) to create an artist development programme for choreographers and beyond based in the North of England.

Open to artists at different stages of their careers, the programme will serve as a creative outlet, new challenge and platform for artists and choreographers to collaborate, create and connect with one another.

One shared dedication between Northern School of Contemporary Dance and the Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund is that of nurturing eclectic talent and uniting creative minds across a broad range of artforms to develop new work. Both organisations have been supporting and inspiring dance artists for over 30 years.

Sharon Watson MBE and CEO and Principal of NSCD comments on why this partnership is stronger together:

Northern School of Contemporary Dance are delighted to be working alongside Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund. This is an opportunity to build creative futures for choreographers and beyond by allowing them the space to gain an even deeper insight into the industry through innovative cross collaborative projects and performances.

Brendan Keaney OBE and CEO and Artistic Director of Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund, comments:

“We are incredibly excited by the partnership with Northern School of Contemporary Dance. One of the ongoing challenges for Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund is ensuring that its resources can remain relevant and make a difference to artists.

“Working with Sharon Watson has been both insightful and inspirational. We are absolutely delighted that this dialogue is now translating into a partnership that will let us investigate new ways that the fund can provide a platform for artists and choreographers. We look forward to revealing more in the near future - watch this space!"
