NSCD SHORTLISTED FOR CHILD FRIENDLY LEEDS AWARDS

Friday 10th January 2020, 12:56pm NSCD shortlisted for Child Friendly Leeds Awards

We're delighted to announce that NSCD's Learning & Participation team has been shortlisted in the Inspiring Creativity through Arts and Culture category of the Child Friendly Leeds Awards.

Five people, groups and organisations in total have been shortlisted for each of the awards' eight categories. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday 6 February, organised by young people's planning group Tentastic Productions. The event, held at Leeds City Varieties, will be themed around 'Space', and each year attendees go the extra mile with elaborate costumes.

The awards, now in their seventh year, celebrate the achievements of local people and organisations who go the extra mile to make Leeds a child-friendly city.

Learning & Participation at NSCD provides local young people with a safe space to express their creativity, learn new skills and reach their potential through a variety of weekly classes and outreach activities. Children of all backgrounds develop balance, coordination and confidence in an inclusive and non-judgemental setting.
