NSCD is excited to announce new commissions by Akshay Sharma, Sara Ribeiro and Kasia Witek for Light Night 2018. The new works will be performed at Yorkshire Dance on Friday 5th October.
Light Night is one of the UK’s largest annual arts and light festivals, and transforms Leeds City centre into an immersive feast of artwork and live performance by local, national and international artists. The selected choreographers, all NSCD Alumni, are currently working in the studio with NSCD third year students, and will present their creations in the city where their careers began.
The commissions form part of a programme of work curated by the Leeds Dance Partnership which includes One Last Dance by Rita Marcalo and MESH by Vanessa Grasse, which will weave through the city’s streets from 6pm.
Last year, third year NSCD students worked with Studio Wayne McGregor to create Photokinetic, and Centre for Advanced Training students performed Body of Light (pictured) by Darren Pritchard, both at Leeds' Carriageworks Theatre.
Don’t miss this year's performances from 17:30-22:00 on 5th October at Yorkshire Dance, St Peter’s Square, Leeds.
