At the Riley Theatre
Candoco Dance Company returns to the Riley Theatre with a vital and virtuosic double bill from two boundary-breaking New York-based choreographers; expanding perceptions of what dance can be.
In Set and Reset/Reset, a recreation of Trisha Brown Dance Company’s seminal work, the dancers move with dream-like fluidity to a driving Laurie Anderson score.
By contrast, Jeanine Durning’s Last Shelter unfolds uniquely at each performance. In an ever-shifting environment, each dancer’s decision-making from moment to moment is highlighted.

Bridging the mainstream and the experimental, Candoco Dance Company’s bold approach and powerful collaborations create distinctive performances and far-reaching learning experiences. They celebrate different ways of seeing, of being and of making art, putting them at the forefront of conversation around dance and disability.
The company, founded in 1991 by Celeste Dandeker-Arnold OBE and Adam Benjamin, collaborates with some of the industry’s most renowned choreographers and artists. They create performance work that is presented at prestigious venues and festivals in the UK and internationally.
In 2018, Candoco created a sensation when it became the first contemporary dance company to appear on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, performing to over 10 million people. In autumn 2019, the company premiered a new work, Hot Mess, by choreographer Theo Clinkard at Warwick Arts Centre, and completed a tour of the Caucasus.
