Catherine Thristan is Director of External Engagement (Partnerships and Executive Education) at Leeds University Business School.
After spending the first eleven years of her career teaching English in Japan – a richly collaborative cultural experience that shaped her values and work ethic – Catherine has held a range of positions at a variety of higher education institutions including Trinity College Dublin, the Royal Academy of Dance, London Business School, Imperial College London and King’s College London.
She moved to Leeds University in 2023 and in her role collaborates with local businesses, government, third sector, civic and international partners, enabling them to work with the university in multiple ways.
Catherine has danced as a hobby since she was five, having been introduced to dance by her Auntie’s best friend who was the local dance teacher in Buxton, Derbyshire. She currently takes adult dance classes at Hype Dance in Sheffield and is thrilled to be a governor of the NSCD.
