Da Yueqi (she/her) was born in Chengdu, China. She began studying Chinese classical dance at the age of 10 and obtained her undergraduate degree from the Sichuan Conservatory Of Music aged 19. After graduating, she worked as a dancer at the Guangdong Dance Theater, participating in the National Dance Competition and earning the "Grand Prize of Excellence", performing in nearly 100 dance performances on a world tour. Following this she returned to her home city of Chengdu to study hip-hop and focused on local theatre to create her own group productions, including shows, choreographies and workshops.
