Born in Venice, Francesca started dancing at a young age and attended her first ballet class when she was just 4 years old. She began studying contemporary dance at the age of 19 and joined NSCD one year later. During her training, Francesca performed works by Gracefool Collective, Fernanda Prata, Keira Martin, Antonio Bukhar Ssebuuma and Rhiannon Faith. She has enjoyed working with Anthony Missen and performing his work The Shadow at the Riley Theatre alongside the members of Company Chameleon.
I chose IDP because I want to discover who I am as an artist. During my three years of training on the BA at NSCD I have always questioned myself about my art, my artistic voice, and the career I want to undertake as a performer and/or as a choreographer. What do I want to say with my art? And where should I go with it? Today, I still do not have an answer to these questions, but this course will give me the chance to get to know myself better allowing me to keep studying, creating and exploring, meeting new people, and having the opportunity to work and collaborate with many different artists from all over the world.
