FREYA HUMPHERY

IDP’s self-proclaimed Fairy Princess, Freya completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia, where she grew up. Her performance highlights include performing in Lucy Guerin’s ’Splinter Groups’ for her graduating piece in 2022 as well as Shinjita Roy’s ‘Spotlight on Shadows” at the National Gallery of Victoria as part of Triennial Extra in 2021. She is interested in the intersection between dance as an ephemeral, ethereal and captivating movement form and the use of film and photography to capture this. She has always been driven by her fierce creative spirit and can often be found obsessing over a new artistic hobby (recently knitting) or rearranging her wardrobe for the 5th time that month. She adores travel and endeavours to continue to explore the world, drawing inspiration from the people she encounters along the way.
