She/Her
BA(Hons) Dance
Hayley has loved dance from a young age and started her journey on The Centre for Advanced Training scheme at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance. She went on to study at Leeds Beckett University, graduating with a 1st Class BA Honors in Dance.
Hayley has several years of experience as a freelance dance artist. She has performed her choreographic work at venues such as Yorkshire Dance, Theatre Deli, Barnsley Civic, and several festivals. However, her main love is community education. Hayley has facilitated for companies including Phoenix Dance Theatre, Yorkshire Dance, NSCD, Sense, Ignite Imaginations, and South Yorkshire Housing Association.
In recent years, she has begun to specialise in inclusive dance, delivering a range of sessions, workshops, and training focussing on her ethos of ‘person-led practice’. This is something she has written about further in the article ‘Making Sense’ published in 2023 for Animated Magazine in conjunction with Sense. She also recently qualified as a Makaton tutor, delivering Makaton training to artists & organisations as well as, CPD on creating accessible dance spaces, which she hopes will support her goal to make dance spaces more inclusive.
