Joey Zhu was born in Chongqing, China. After three years of studying Chinese classical dance, he obtained a bachelor's degree at Xinghai Conservatory of Music to studying Choreography and Contemporary Dance whilst also working with Jeffrog Wang. Since graduating, he has been invited to perform and create works for modern dance and drama festivals, worked on multiple projects featuring Chinese dance artists, and traveled to Japan, Italy and other countries to perform and compete.
