Kit (23) is a non-binary dance artist born in Kent. Their love of performance began in ballroom and Latin formation teams, where they found a space to channel their most dramatic self. This passion led them to train at NSCD, graduating from BA (Hons) Dance (Contemporary). They have performed in works by Ruby Portus, Carlos Pons Guerra, and Opera North.
Since joining MA Interdisciplinary Dance Performance, Kit has discovered a deep love for spoken word within dance, using language to shape movement and meaning. They are also a maker, drawn to exploring the strangeness of performance and the queerness within it. Their work often takes inspiration from genital politics, with their most recent piece, Rabbits in the Womb, inspired by the true story of Mary Toft.
Working with Complicité has deepened Kit’s focus on fashion in performance, using the fashion cycle to explore self-expression and sustainability.
