REBECCA PEGG

she/her

Rebecca was born in 2001 in Chelmsford, Essex, where she started training in Cheerleading with DC49 and Supremacy Dance & Cheer. At age 15, Rebecca discovered contemporary dance through DanceEast’s CAT scheme.

During her time on the BA at NSCD, Rebecca performed works by Antonio Bukhar Ssebuuma, Fernanda Prata, Dr Joseph Mercier, Imogen Reeve and Rhiannon Faith. She has also enjoyed teaching with the L&P team and was commissioned to choreograph a work for NSCD’s Youth Company in Summer 2023. A highlight of Rebecca’s third year was touring ‘Cracked Nuts’ with Glitterbomb Dancers to queer venues across the UK.

Rebecca is excited to join the MA in Interdisciplinary Dance Performance at NSCD whilst continuing to appreciate the art spaces which Leeds and Yorkshire offer.

"As someone with varied interests, I chose IDP to enhance my performance technique in a range of non-theatre settings. I view the course as an opportunity to improve my skills in voice and character work and to develop my choreographic tools. I am excited to have time to be curious, connect and explore – especially when it comes to understanding what I can offer and how to input that into my own practice. IDP acts as an additional layer to my work as a freelancer from which I can meet new people, gain insight into fresh aspects of the dance world and continue to discover other artistic hubs."
