Application Support Package

Find out what support you can access when applying to NSCD

Can I access it?

You qualify for the Application Support Package if you are a UK domiciled student on an undergraduate course and you meet any of these criteria: 

  • You are a care leaver or a carer 
  • You are estranged from your parents 
  • You are from the Global Majority 
  • You have a disability (either a learning or a physical disability) 
  • You are from a household with an annual income of £42,875 or below 
  • You were in receipt of free school meals during your GCSE studies 
  • You are a mature student (21 or over on 1 September year of entry) 
  • You are from Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showmen and Boater (GTRSB) communities 
  • You or your parents/carers have refugee status, indefinite leave to remain (ILR) or humanitarian protection status 
  • You are from a Military family 
  • You live in an area with low progression to Higher Education. This is assessed using a combination of two datasets, Participation of Local Areas (POLAR4) and Tracking Underrepresentation by Area (TUNDRA).  
  • You are from an under-resourced background (assessed using the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) dataset) 

What is it?

  1. You can sign up for a free Audition Preparation Workshop both online and in person.
  2. You can receive a £50 Audition Travel Bursary (if you attend an Audition Preparation Workshop) to help you attend an in-person audition.
  3. 1-2-1 support for applicants / new starters via phone/email/in person. 

What other support is there?

Undergraduate Students with an annual Household Income below £25,000 can receive: 

  1. Application Fee Waiver – the £20 fee required to cover NSCD application process fee is waivered.
  2. Don’t have to pay an Acceptance Fee 

All new starters (Postgraduate and Undergraduate): 

  1. Can attend our House hunting day – online/in person
  2. Can attend our Financial Support online information session
  3. Can receive pre-enrollment 121 support tutorial via phone/email/in person
  4. Can access English Language Support  to support you throughout your application process and can attend a 2 week orientation to help the transition ahead of induction week.
