Please note that offers for this course are made on a rolling basis, therefore early application is recommended.

Important information

Making your application

Applicants are required to create an account via our online application portal and complete an application. You will need to provide:

Personal information: including contact details and qualification details
Your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Link to video footage (maximum 15 minutes) to include examples of your work that best represent the breadth of your interests as an artist. This may include your creative/choreographic work, your performance work, your solo work and/or your improvisation work. Please ensure that each extract is of sufficient length (e.g. 2-3 minutes minimum) to allow the panel to evaluate the work effectively
A Personal Statement/Essay (750 – 1000 words) detailing your approach to producing work and reasons for applying. Please reference current theories of practice to support your writing and include a reference page or bibliography in a Harvard style.

Application fee

The application fee is a one-off payment of £20 and covers the cost of processing applications.

Instructions on how to make payment will be included in your confirmation email.

We are unable to process your application until we have received payment.

If you are applying for more than one course please contact admissions@nscd.ac.uk and you will be issued with a code to use at checkout to ensure you only pay the application fee once.

For 2025 Entry NSCD are hosting the following postgraduate overseas auditions:

Postgraduate Audition at Rom for Dans, Norway

Sat 11 January | 14:00 – 16:45

Postgraduate Audition at City Contemporary Dance Company, Hong Kong

Tue 18 February | 14:00 – 16:45

Postgraduate Audition at de! Kunsthumaniora Hedendaagse Dans (Wilrijk), Belgium

Sat 22 February | 14:00 – 16:45

Postgraduate Audition at Singapore School of the Arts, Singapore

Sat 22 February | 14:00 – 16:45

The audition schedule for Belgium, Hong Kong and Singapore will be as follows:

1.30-2.00 – Registration
2.00-2.45 – Improvisation
2.45-3.45 – Contemporary
3.45-4.45 – Rep & Creative

The audition schedule for Oslo will be as follows:

1.30-2.00 – Registration
2.00-2.45 – Improvisation into Ballet
2.45-3.45 – Contemporary
3.45-4.45 – Rep & Creative

Applicants who want to attend any of the above auditions should complete an application form and then book onto the relevant audition (link will be provided in confirmation email). Auditions will be filmed for panel members to review.

Interviews

We aim to review applications within 2 weeks of receiving them during term time. Shortlisted applicants are invited to attend an interview online. All applicants receive a notification as to whether they have been shortlisted or not.

Outcomes

Applicants who are successful at the interview will be made an offer and have 3 weeks in which to accept. We will inform you if you have not been successful.
