Audition Preparation Workshops

Find out what to expect at audition for our undergraduate courses.

All workshops are free and cover each section of the audition:

  • Icebreaker
  • Technical practices
  • Creative session
  • Discussion

Find out what we are looking for in each section, and receive top tips on how to showcase your individuality in the best way possible.

Attend either in-person at NSCD or online via Zoom.

 Please note: Places for in-person audition preparation workshops at NSCD are limited.

UK Audition Preparation Workshop attendees are also eligible for a £50 travel bursary to attend their audition – register your interest as part of your booking at the link below.

Our final workshops to prepare for undergraduate auditions (BA/CertHE) for 2025 entry will be held on:

Eligibility

To attend these workshops, you must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • You are a care leaver or a carer
  • You are estranged from your parents
  • You are from the Global Majority
  • You have a disability (either a learning or a physical disability)
  • You are from a household with an annual income of £42,875 or below
  • You were in receipt of free school meals during your GCSE studies
  • You are a mature student (21 or over on 1 September 2025)
  • You are from Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showmen and Boater (GTRSB) communities
  • You or your parents/carers have refugee status, indefinite leave to remain (ILR) or humanitarian protection status
  • You are from a Military family
  • You live in an area with low progression to Higher Education This is assessed using a combination of two datasets, Participation of Local Areas (POLAR) and Tracking Underrepresentation by Area (TUNDRA). 
  • You are from an under-resourced background (assessed using the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) dataset)
