About Nadine:

Through her educational vision, teaching and leadership,  Nadine Senior MBE (1939- 2016) went on to inspire many of the dancers, choreographers, teachers and dance leaders of our time, internationally.

Nadine lobbied with great spirit and passion to prove the need for professional dance education in Leeds and founded NSCD in 1985. To this day it remains the only conservatoire/Higher Education provision in contemporary dance outside of London.

Though Nadine retired in 2001,  the tremendous impact of her contribution continues to resonate. It underpins not only NSCD but Leeds as a City of Dance, with Phoenix Dance Theatre, RJC Dance and many other individual artists and arts administrators touched by her inspiration.
